Hello Dave, what's the matter? [Dave whispers]
KB, excited, about what Dave? [Dave whispers] About Christmas, you're looking forward to it. (Dave nods& whispers) 18, What’s 18? Dave have you lost your voice?
Dave: 18 Sleeps till Christmas. That’ why I’m excited?
KB: Did you know that it's Advent Dave?
Dave: Yes
[KB to Dave] Do you know what Advent is about?
[Dave] Waiting?
[KB] That’s right, Advent is a time of waiting/preparing for Jesus coming to earth
[Dave] Baby in the Manger – [sings] Silent Night …..
[KB] That’s half right. That was the first Advent – the nativity scene we have here is about that. But there is a second advent.
[Dave to KB] When is the second Advent?
[KB] Good question, nobody knows, because that is when Jesus comes back to earth
[Dave] Baby Jesus take two?
KB: No, not as a baby but as Lord and Saviour and judge.
Dave: So we’re waiting for that too?
KB: Yes that’s right, have you done all your preparations ?
Dave: No I'm waiting
KB: What waiting for?
Dave: Waiting to see who sends me cards, waiting to see who gives me presents
KB What else?
Dave: Waiting for the tree.
KB: Well you can buy a Christmas tree now?
Dave: I'm waiting for them to come down in price!
KB: Oh Dave, you need to get the tree to put the lights on. Have you seed all the lights around the place?
Dave: Yea, they're already lit up in town. Lights everywhere. I was there two weeks ago, 15 Nov 2025 - Kept us waiting - freezing. Then, wow 6pm there they were. Lights everywhere. Wow
KB: Last week we lit our 1st Advent candles but the middle one is VIP (LJC)
Dave : That's the most important thing. (nods) We're waiting for Jesus! Jesus really is wow!
KB: That's right Dave. In all the business of preparing for Christmas, let us not forget what we're really waiting for this Advent. Jesus Christ the Light of the world stepped down into darkness.
